Richard Lam

Richard Lam (he/him) is a Toronto-based Actor, Writer, Musician, and Sound Designer. Richard earned his B.A. in Political Science at the University of British Columbia and then pivoted to the theatre, training at the B.F.A in Acting Program at the University of Alberta and the Soulpepper Academy. A former union organizer for CUPW and Ontario councillor for the Canadian Actor's Equity Association, he is currently the Program Guide for the Talk Is Free Theatre Artist Basic Income Guarantee Program and a proud co-founder of Ground Floor. He is in the final stages of completing a certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation from Conrad Grebel University College at the University of Waterloo.

 

Selected theatre credits include: The Apple Cart and Shadow Of A Doubt (Shaw Festival); Little Women, Every Little Nookie (Stratford Festival); Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan (Bad Hats Theatre); Into The Woods, Sin and Sorrow Are Common To All, For Both Resting And Breeding (Talk Is Free Theatre);  Measure For Measure, Much Ado About Nothing (Canadian Stage); Once (Citadel Theatre); Lulu v. 7 (Red Light District/Buddies In Bad Times); New Canadian Curling Club (Thousand Islands Playhouse/WCT); 15 productions at Soulpepper Theatre including Spoon River, Of Human Bondage, Incident At Vichy, The Dybbuk, and Marat/Sade. He has been nominated for three Dora awards.
